In February 2005 reported magnitude earthquake magnitude 9.3. Although the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has approved that number. However, the United States Geological Survey set the magnitude 9.2. or when using the unit of seismic moment (Mw) of 9.5.Rupture velocity is estimated at 2.5 km/s in the direction between North-Northwest with a length of between 1200 to 1300 km. Vice President Jusuf Kalla who was present said, “Aceh in a major disaster, I just may happen to news of an earthquake in Aceh, many damaged buildings may not be more severe than papua earthquake of 6.4 SR.” We know some of the moments leading up to the earthquake in Aceh have occurred the earthquake on 26 December 2004, an earthquake of 6.4 SR rocked Nabire, Papua Province recorded 30 people killed.
Ever since the 2004 tsunami, the aspirational phrase “build back better” has found its way into several disaster recovery plans and guidelines, including the U.N.-endorsed Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. This story looks back at Aceh to see what lessons have been learned to make that goal more inclusive of livelihoods in affected areas — particularly the case of fisheries in Aceh, which provided direct employment for more than 80,000 people, or 16 percent of the total coastal population, prior to the tsunami.

  1. Good work on describing the Tsunami of Aceh. However, I need you to focus on the event of the Tsunami. Some of your data and facts can and should be included as supporting detail of the event.
You can focus on what happened during the pre-tsunami. Earthquake was one of the first pre-tsunami event, and you did write it. Then what happened after the earthquake?
Moving on, explain the event when the tsunami occurred. How long does it take from the pre-tsunami to tsunami hit the land? How long does the water welled up?
Lastly, the post tsunami. When did the volunteer and rescuer able to help people that was stuck on building, or odd places? Give the facts or data of casualty and damages.
